Do you ever wonder what fountain nymphs do when its dark and cold? Well it is dark and cold in Denver tonight and the nymph is always where she is supposed to be but you have to wonder if she ever gets tired of the snow and cold damp air....I know I would..... Maybe she dances a gig in the dark when no one is looking?...Miles...www.bymiles.org.

Sometimes the conductors in our lives go unnoticed but other times they are seen riding small trains that always seem to go to the top of the mountain. The hard part is trying to figure out which train to jump on.... Enjoy Miles. www.bymiles.org

Political campaigns can often be rushless. Elections are won or lost on the narrowest of margins and sometimes decided only by such things as name recognition. Over in Van Zandt county Texas just such a race is unfolding. Cluck for Change, Cluck for clerk, It's time for Cluck, Cluck for the future. It will be a tight race but I think Cluck will be heard. See you on the road. Miles. www.bymiles.org

You can tell alot about a person by their face. This face is about 9 feet by 9 feet. It's the roadside Sam Houston Statue on I-45 in Texas. They have a big visitors center and gift shop. I assume you can buy little Sam Houston's and even smaller Santa Anna dolls. As you might imagine it wasn't crowded. Sam Houston was the father of Texas Independence and Defeated Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto. NO CHARGE for the history lesson. Next time you are standing in front of someone you just met, see what you can tell what story their face tells... You might be surprized. Miles. www.bymiles.org

It's nice to know hotels are working to save the planet. Even nicer to know they can let you know in a couple of different languages especially in Houston. I wonder if the hotels in Latin America have signs telling you that the planet is being saved in English? Vaya Con Dios. www.bymiles.org

The Buckhorn Exchange is the oldest Restaurant in Denver. It's a mix of yak steaks and buffalo burgers paired with very good wine. Yeap, wine. I can imagine the grizzled old prospectors sipping a light claret under the mange ridden rotting heads of game that cover the faded velvet walls. At any rate, it's only a block from NOISE and tonight I thought it was on fire. I'm glad I was wrong and it will live to serve the beef another day. Adios. www.bymiles.org

Have you ever felt like your life was so full of distractions that they just pulled at your hair? My day was like that today. Someone always pulling at my hair... This is an 18th century Japanese ink on paper hanging in the commons above NOISE. Great insider advice on a little place called Sapa Vietnam the other night at Happa Sushi. www.bymiles.org

After the haze of Mardi Gras its always nice to see old friends. Marie Laveau kept mumbling between Sazaracs, "stop thrownin' me somthin mister." Marie was quite the target this year. Noise is almost finished with the transformation and Marie has agreed to stay for St. Patricks Day. The party is here so everyone mark the calendar. www.bymiles.org

Noise is in transition. The moth is emerging again and will become a butterfly of a different color. It's sort of like a preview from "cribs", only I'm not rich, or famous, or popular.... Goodwill is booming and if anything strikes your fancy in the image....it may be available for a price. Exciting stuff on the horizon. Does anyone know Brad and Angelina's new number... www.bymiles.org

Everyone needs a little MODERATION in their lives. Tonight it was provided by my buddy Bryant and his band the Moderators. It was Live at the Gothic on Broadway in Denver. Nothing like having a small private party for around 800 of your closest friends. I got a few good shots in a great venue. I even knew a few of the songs... go oldsters. www.bymiles.org

On a long stretch of desolate highway in the Comanche Grasslands of Southeastern Colorado there is a shrine. A roadside momument to someone. From the teddy bear and horses it most likely is a child. Who was this child? What happened to him or her. It's a lonely piece of blacktop with few cars and fewer houses. The name is long since faded off but the pieces remain. I can't help but wonder who put it there and the sense of their lose. We should all be so lucky to have someone who would put such a masterpiece of love in such a harsh and lonely place. Live each day as if it were your last I say..... www.bymiles.org

The long trip back from Mardi Gras began this morning. The solitude and silence of the open road only occasionally broken by "pitstops" of various kinds. I have passed this diner many times in my travels and always wondered if the burger they used to serve was any good. www.bymiles.org

Fat Tuesday. The parades, the costumes, the...well the drinks. The Mardi Gras Mariachi rides again. The weather finally got a little warmer but it was still cold in the shadows. Shadows....yeap, still cold in the quarter. Somehow, I think the French Quarter in New Orleans will be in my future.....www.bymiles.org

Life in the quarter is grand. Mardi Gras on the Rue Bourbon. The barbie bead catcher is in fine form. Nothing like the feel of the Big Easy. www.bymiles.org

Happy Valentines Day in the Big Easy. Mardi Gras is in full swing. It warmed up nicely and the beads were flying. A hurricane or two and the carousel bar at the Monteleonne on Royal Street. This photo is from the table at the Portella on the square. Let the good times roll... Say cheese is planning a shoot tomorrow. www.bymiles.org

That first beer is tough but the others go down easier as the morning goes on. The Tante Sue de Mamou is still alive and kicking. Her hot damn secured in her holster by her side. Fred's Lounge in Mamou really is the capital of Cajun Music and one of the few places where you can drink a beer at 8 am and not feel too strange about it. The 12:30 pm hang over is a little tough to deal before lunch. On to New Orleans. www.bymiles.org

This trip has the strangest weather. After getting through the foot of snow in Dallas, Eunice was the next stop. This is the street dance on main street Friday night. NOPE, no one was there except the band. Too damn cold. Go Figure. www.bymiles.org

No Free 72 ounce steak for me. It closed before I could get there on the Mega Road Trip to New Orleans and Mardi Gras. There was more snow in Texas than in Colorado. Le bon temp roulez. www.bymiles.org

Staking the elusive smack fish at Sonoda sushi LODO Denver. Chowing on some protein before the "Mega Roadtrip" and my Cajun brothers and sisters. Lot's of miles tomorrow to reach the Eunice Street Dance on Friday night. Then on to Freds and the "Tante Sue de Mamou". Follow the roadtrip right here. Bon Soir.

No ambien needed tonight. Sorry about that or as I said last night, LEOJSODIUJOEJlljdiogelj ! The sun is setting on a long week. I am ready to get on the road to the crescent city. NAWLINS. Still lots to do and time is running out. Some people work a little better under pressure. Lordy, I wish I was one of those.
Thanks for the great comments on Guatemala on www.bymiles.org It was a great trip. Check it out in Spectacle on the site.

Im in the haze of an ambien taken a few minutes ago and wondering what would you feel like if you fought the thing for awhile. It's very hard to see things that are level. Most things are liek bot hools...

The preparation of the Mardi gras Marachachi with full fear. then of course the Reinnessance poet "Miles". Both will be roaming the quarter and if you are lucky enough you might see one of the one in the Quarter. Picturs adn blogs from the show will be coming soon. Lez Bon temps roulez. www.bymiles.org

WHO DAT? Do you believe the Saints won the bowl? Nothing like cooking some burgers on the grill for the Super bowl in a snow storm with the train going by... I wonder what the boys on Bourbon are eating and wearing? 7 days until the quarter and dispatchs from the Mardi Gras... See it all on www.bymiles.org...

If it were only so easy.... A few coins and the debt is paid. Do you ever feel like you are stuck on a 3 minute meter, always having to throw in more but never being able to get far enough away to stop thinking about what you owe? The debt is only to yourself and you should always be able to extend the terms... Look at Maya Diaries in Spectacle ...www.bymiles.org

There is always something exciting about preparing for a new adventure. Doing a little Youtube research is a must. A few guide books and some rice wine to go along with it make the experience real. Southeast Asia again in the Fall. Tickets are already bought. "Say Cheese" goes Asia.

Maya Diaries and Faces are up on my website. Look under Spectacle to find the galleries. Tell me what you think. www.bymiles.org

Some folks love their jobs and some folks live their jobs. I would like to think there is a balance but of course you never know. Few of us get to dress up as a famous woman and even fewer get to dance while doing it. A toast to all of us who dance with the ones who brung us.... www.bymiles.org

Nothing like a good soak! Even if it's in a car wash. There is something exciting about the big blue monster. It surrounds you, it cleans you, it give you very specific directions and then sends you out into the world as a new person. It's ashame they are only for cars......
