Something is screwy with every part of the things I love. Even the the tasting room is changing. Now you can get a glass of wine with the ENO card. Yes, a wine debt card that you stick into the machine and it squeezes out different pours in a glass. If it weren't for Andrea and John I would have screamed. The Tasting Room in DC is great and the hosts are fabulous, but a vino vending machine....please. Miles..www.bymiles.org

A scene from "Cabbie" the first movie. It may look strange but it turned up in the top two of the DC film festival. Number one was not announced, FYI. Lot's going on all over the place. I spent a few minutes trying to capture the audio and video of the singing subway escalator...stay tuned for that one. All is normal in the land of Lincoln. Miles. www.bymiles.org

The Big Apple from the the Presidents Club in Newark. Looks pretty exciting from the window. In Washington for the big class and am dog tired. It's amazing that I didn't hear native English until I got to the Hotel. Not in Newark, not at Dulles in DC. What a diverse place we live and most of the time we don't even know it. More later on the Oscar run. Miles

Nag Nag Nag, "gettin some schoolin" at the apple store. The new machine is in and I'm almost back on the grid again. Of course the second Mac was completely wrong too luckily the Cherry Creek Apple Orchard did a coring job and the little baby. Sitting with the Mac reminded me that I have no computer skills and even less patience. Tomorrow off to Video School MAYBE, there is a major snow storm blowing here in Denver. Laugh all of you tanned warm bodies down in Texas. Next post is from Obamaland. Caio. Miles

Sometimes inspiration is put in your path at the strangest times. Occasionally it literally blows in through the open door. That is what happened tonight at the clean-o-matic. The American dream fluttered in and landed at my feet. "Live Debt Free". "no more hassles", "keep your hard earned money". Its now my mantra, the lifestyle not the bankruptcy. Heed the signs when the gods put them in our path, I say. Heed the signs! Never give up! Miles. www.bymiles.org

Hangin on the patio of NOISE and practicing with the beast. A turbo video camera that will change the future of mankind. Well, maybe not mankind but at least some future video projects. The technology is amazing as is my lack of comprehension of it. Read the instructions...that's for whimps. The wine is to take the edge off the techno stress. Miles. www.bymiles.org

East Colfax is quiet after the big snowstorm of yesterday. Looking west from the "best burger in Denver" place, the City Grille, it looks somehow serene. The buffalo was perfect tonight. Oh, the food of the West. Making plans for the 2010 Redneck games in East Dublin, Georgia. Git-r-done. sweet dreams. Miles www.bymiles.org

My new Alma mater "The Art Institute of Colorado". I even get a student ID. Going for the Oscar in independent film for 2013. Should be a wide open year. I'm hoping to be the oldest student in school and from what I saw tonight I may be the only one without a ring somewhere. Does that hurt??? I may go ahead and ....naw. Miles. www.bymiles.org

The day the machines fight back. The Leprechuans are hard at work dismantling my stuff. This is my shiney new MacBook Pro that I just got out of the box tonight and does not work. Apple has no tech support after 6 pm and the apple store told me it was too late for them to deal with me. I asked about the tech support and they said "their people like to sleep and we would never have tech support in India." Really, I would like to work on my new multi-thousand dollar product and if they did have tech support in India, I would have a person much smarter than Tim to talk to.
All of this was done in the dark because the breaker is tripped and I don't have a key to the room it's in. Not a good day for the Kid. Move your alarm clocks a little farther away from you tonight..The Machines are angry. Miles

A lonely hotel room in a far away place....actually, Houston and the Marriott but it's still away from home. My alter ego "Anthony Bourdain" is on the screen and it always causes some dreaming. Denver tomorrow and more work. I may wax nostalgic about leaving my ex-favorite airline again... Who knows. Miles. www.bymiles.org

I didn't see a single Leprechaun today at the St. Paddy's Day parade. Lot's green beer and a few new friends. Even a pipe and drum group or two. St. Paddy's day has never been one of my big events but starting next year it will be. A transition is coming in a more ways than one. Top of morning to you. Miles. www.bymiles.org

Genghis Kahn would sit up and put his nose in the air. My secret sauce...calamari, shrimp, scallops, wheat grass, carrots, sweet sausage, meat, talapia, green onions, water chestnuts, noodles, garlic mung, peas, crab, and other stuff. Sauce is garlic, chili, soy, mongolian garlic, peanut and some other stuff. The brew comes out to this amazing scene. Martha Stewart isn't the only one who wears and ankle bracelet.

In Laramie Wyoming there is a one of the oldest salons and parlors in the American West. The Buckhorn Bar in Laramie has been around for a long time. It's bar stools have seen real gunslingers, senators, outlaws,, and the occasional tourist. If you're ever at the corner of Ivinson and 2nd in Laramie stop in for a brew and some conversation. This ones for my old friend MST. Adios. Miles. www.by.miles.org

Great exploration is rarely dependant on the lines of a map. The same was true today at Copper Mountain. Outstanding spring weather interlaced with great friends and some stout hooch made for a perfect day. The nasty drive back in the snow storm was the punctuation mark on just how lucky a person can be to find that kind of day. Remember, always make one more run if you can. Ciao, Miles. www.bymiles.org

There is something about a laundromat on a Friday night that always draws a crowd. A loud hispanic game show on the tube and the wherr of machines as they spin and shake. I wasn't the only one out enjoying the ambiance. It really was a family affair. I hope all of you visit NOISE soon but please don't bring your laundry. Miles. www.bymiles.org

How often does technology step in front of tradition and take a big tumble. The wine serving industry is dancing at the door of disaster in my opinion with the increasing use of the wine tap. The automated sucking of the nectar of the grape pulled from the perfectly adorned romantic bottle. Heresy I say. Pour the wine, don't siphon the juice out like a cheap gasoline thief. Sorry, I'm just a wine snob. Give me your opinion and I will make Jihad on the machines. Miles. www.bymiles.org

Have you ever felt like you were too many places at once? As we approach Saint Paddy's Day the Leprechauns are out and about. They often travel in great numbers as you can see. Sometimes you may be lucky enough to find the photo they leave behind. If you do save it...it may be worth a pint of ale. Bon Chance..Miles.

Happy Texas Independence Day in addition to the Liddle Vato's Birthday. Tagging is an art no doubt about it. It is the ultimate train art most certainly and is in line with any mural Diego Riveria and Frido ever thought of. The artists hit the gates of NOISE the other night. A small insignificant sign on the gate but art none the less. A toast to all those who color outside the lines.... I hope you dance....Miles. www.bymiles.org

Amongst the fruits, nuts, and veggies I somehow feel at home. Supermarkets have to rank up there on the strangest places we visit. Strangers jammed together doing some of the most intimate of things...buying crap to stuff in their faces. You can learn alot about people by watching what they buy. The women in running clothes buying nuts, trail mix, and organic apples. Only to see the Blue Bell cookies and cream hidden in the bottom of the basket. (binger for sure) The huge guy with twinkies, supersized frozen pizza, and bakery dounuts so covered in glaze you have to wonder if they are really under there. (a real "live now man") did I mention the 7bottles of blood pressure meds and cholesteral pills. Lot's of info floating among the boxes, cans, and bags. Next time take a look.... Ciao, Miles. www.bymiles.org
